Philadelphia, Pa. | Camden, NJ native Christopher Gary Simmons is a humble Temple University graduate with a bachelor’s in English literature, an honored Villanova MBA graduate and now UPenn staff member. His appreciation for writing and lyrics knows no bounds. Raised in a golden era of hip-hop on artists like Public Enemy, The Roots, De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, Nas, 2Pac, Big and others, his love of lyrics was born from loving stories. His goal, in his words is to… “God willing, follow When the Knight Fell, with a Hip-Hop vs. Shakespeare series of re-imagined adaptations from more of Shakespeare’s iconic stories and characters.” He sees it as a journey across paths made for artists and audiences to learn and grow together.
